Full Building Survey
A detailed inspection and report for houses, purpose built and converted flats, maisonettes, bungalows, shops, offices, factories, warehouses, leisure facilities and mixed use properties which include both a residential and commercial element to investigate and report in depth on condition and future maintenance.
A building survey formerly known as a Structural Survey is the most detailed property inspection available. It's different to a homebuyer's report because it takes a more in depth look at the property's construction and condition. It will tell you in more detail about:
- any major problems with the building
- the general condition of reasonably accessible internal and external parts of the building
- the roof structure
- anything that could be expensive to fix in the future
- any suspected problems like timber infestation or damp that might need specialist advice
- the overall impression of services like water supply and drainage - testing these services isn't included though
It will also:
- look at boundaries, grounds and outbuildings
- explain the consequences of any problems discovered during the inspection
We can also tailor a building survey for your needs. For example, we can advise you on any major conversion or renovation you might be planning.
Is it for me? We can give you a full building survey report on any building, but it's particularly suitable if the property is large, old, unusual or poorly maintained. It is also good for properties that have been substantially altered or extended.
